Welcome to Lound Infant School

Our school Curriculum

We aim to deliver a rich and varied curriculum to our children each day. We do this through a well organised programme of learning incorporating both the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

When the children come into Reception, we provide them with a well matched curriculum incorporating the indoor and outdoor environment. We provide learning opportunities that allow children to learn in a way that is suited to their own learning style. We make careful notes and observations on the children's progress to allow us to deliver the next steps in their learning journey.
In Reception the children undertake learning in six areas:
* Communication Language and Literacy
* Mathematical Development
* Knowledge and Understanding of the World
* Personal Social and Emotional Development
* Creative Development
* Physical Development
As the children move into Year One we aim to ensure that there is a smooth transition between the Foundation Stage  and the more structured National Curriculum.
When children move into Year Two, they have successfully developed mature and comprehensive learning skills and a thirst for greater knowledge. We provide a stimulating and exciting curriculum that ensures the children are well prepared to move into the juniors at the end of the year.
The children undertake their study in each of the following areas:
*Literacy
*Numeracy
*Science
*Information and Communication Technology
*Design and Technology
*Religious Education
*Physical Education
*History
*Geography
*Art
*Music
